The Fund could receive revenue from annual fees established under the bill, including
- a grower application fee of $100
- a processor-handler license application of $1,350
- fine revenue from proposed fines for violations
- $100 to $500 for a first violation,
- $500 to $1,000 for a second violation,
- $1,000 to $2,000 for a third or subsequent violation.
While the MDARD predicts that there likely is a market for the growing and processing of industrial hemp in the State, it is not possible at this time to estimate how large this market may be, or how much revenue could be generated by the fees specified under the bill.
